100% Wholly-Owned by the Akiak Native Community
Contributing to the Tribe’s long-term wealth and economic self-sufficiency by providing management services to its portfolio of operating businesses across a range of industries.
To promote, support and encourage tribal business development in the commercial, small business, tourism, industrial and other sectors of the Akiak Native Community's economy thereby improving the overall quality of life for its citizens.
We are tribally-owned and tribally-managed. Akiak Holdings does not produce goods or services, or conduct business operations; rather, our purpose is to provide services to our own subsidiaries. This 'parent' legal structure allows us to reinvest funding that directly benefits the residents living in Akiak.
Proven tools and expertise to assist with planning, developing the team and subsidiary company infrastructure, supporting formulation through integration and provide general management advisory and governance, while honoring culture and values to make a positive impact for generations.
Subsidiary companies are separate and distinct legal entities from Akiak Holdings, which reflects in the independence of their liabilities, taxation, governance, and business operations. Just like Alaska Native Corporations, subsidiary companies of Akiak Holdings are involved in federal contracting consulting and management services for engineering, Information Technology, broadband technologies and equipment, and facility management and other services.
Nation-building and tribal community expansion are supported by revenue generated through the profitable operation of our subsidiary companies, which have the added benefit of boosting the economies of the communities in which they are located. Our strategy includes a phased approach of active investments with businesses operating in the commercial and federal sectors.
Our purpose is centered on advancing economic opportunities that drive and sustain intergenerational prosperity for the Akiak people and future generations, based on our values of responsibility, resiliency and respect.
The Akiak Native Community is the name of our tribe. It is a federally recognized tribe and is a sovereign tribal government. We are Yup'ik and have been thriving and evolving for hundreds of years -- and our legacy continues to endure. It is located within the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
The Akiak Native Community has joined and more continue to join! The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Tribal Broadband Consortium, is a nonprofit Tribal Organization as defined in 25 U.S.C. § 5304(l). It was created by Tribes for Tribes to connect and serve YKD Tribal communities by installing and providing broadband internet services that strengthen Tribal sovereignty and increase economic independence.
